Hackers often attack the Microsoft Windows kernel as it forms the important part of an operating system. The newest vulnerability discovered by SkyRecon affects all Microsoft Windows 2000 and newer versions of the operating system. If an attacker can successfully execute the arbitrary code in kernel mode, the entire affected system will then be under his control. This allows the attacker to install programs; view, change or delete critical data; and even create new accounts with administrative user rights.
